Leon Baptiste then continued his message in an inspiring assembly for the whole school. He showed the children some footage of one of his medal winning races as well as tell them all about his story - the troubles along with the tribulations. What a super exercise filled, dream building morning we had! Well done to everyone who helped raise a big total!
Former GB gold medal winning athlete, Leon Baptiste has been putting us through our paces today in order to promote a healthy lifestyle. All children in school were challenged to complete 4 solid 1-minute exercises one after the other as part of this initiative. It was great fun as well as hard work!
Our foundation stage and key stage one pupils sang two songs from their Christmas play before performing a Christmas carol complete with bells.
Our children sang some festive songs for families and friends before our Christmas raffle.
Our Reception children have been learning about where our food comes from. We read the story of "The little Red Hen," fantastically acted out here by four of our pupils. We then thought about the different uses of flour and made gingerbread men. Our pupils read and acted out their recipe as part of our Harvest performance too.
Our year 1/2 pupils sang a super song about how important and GREAT vegetables are!
Our year 3/4 pupils read a poem with a play on Harvest time words.
Our year 5/6 pupils sang a song about Harvest, complete with makaton actions.
Golden Eagles turned musicians today in their music lesson. We had guitars, Alice accompanied on her Melodeon and Evie played her violin. All the class played some percussion instrument in order to provide the rhythm or beat for us to sing to.
